Service 2 were appointed as the M&E contractor to carry out the heating upgrade at Woldgate college, Pocklington, York.
The works included decentralising the existing oil fired LTHW system and installing 4 new localised gas fired plant rooms to remove the issues caused by underground heating pipework that had failed on numerous occasions.
Working with Hamworthy, we installed Stratton MK2 room sealed boilers and a BMS system to control the site.
Service 2 delivered the full mechanical and electrical elements for the project, including the installation of natural gas to site and the distribution of new HDPE underground gas pipework to each new plant room location.
* UPDATE 11.04.18 *
With the half term over, 3 of 4 plant rooms are now operational.
The 4th plant room was delayed due to ACM being stripped, so temporary boilers have been purpose made and installed to ensure the school suffers no disruption until the new permanent boilers have been installed. We chose 3x Ideal Evomax 150’s and a plate heat exchanger to protect them.
Work was completed in full to the highest standards and in full compliance with all relevant regulations as well as onsite policies and procedures.
